Fundamentals Site Refresh
ed2go will be refreshing all of our Partner Fundamentals sites to provide students with the best possible online experience.

Your site will be updated with a new mobile-responsive design, which helps your search engine rankings. The refresh also streamlines the search experience, so prospective students will have an easier time navigating your catalog, finding courses, and enrolling.

Below are some frequently asked questions. If you still have questions, please contact your Account Manager.

FAQs

Why are you updating my Fundamentals site?
With a continued increase in mobile traffic and evolving search engine requirements, we are refreshing ed2go-hosted Fundamentals sites to meet current standard web conventions.

Are Career Training sites also being refreshed?
No. The site refresh only impacts Fundamentals sites.

What are the benefits of refreshing my Fundamentals site?
Ultimately, the refresh will streamline potential barriers to enrollment. Prospective students will have an easier time navigating your catalog, as well as enrolling in courses. In addition, the redesign adheres to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best-practices that maintain and may even increase web traffic to your site.

How will my site change?
The refresh will update your site with a new design, optimized for mobile-responsiveness, better SEO rankings, and ADA compliance. Additionally, if you offer Self-Paced Tutorial courses, both modalities (self-paced and instructor-led) will show up on a single course details page.

Will the Online Administration Center change?
We will add the new color palette themes to the Account section of your Online Administration Center and update the dimension requirements for uploading your logo. Otherwise, the refresh primarily impacts your Online Instruction Center (homepage, course details pages, theme, help page, and search).

Will I still be able to edit the welcome message on my homepage?
Yes. If you have customized copy on your homepage, this will transfer over in the site refresh.

Why is my course details page changing?
Since we launched our Self-Paced Tutorial courses, we have found that an increasing number of students choose this modality. Adding both options, if offered, to a course details pages provides ease of use when selecting the modality that best fits one’s learning needs.

Why is my site’s color palette theme changing?
Historically, we have offered variations on similar color palette themes. We consolidated these different themes into 11 standardized templates. Your site’s theme will be mapped to a new template that best matches your organization’s brand identity and previous color palette.

Why is my help page changing?
With the refresh, your help page will be optimized to provide ease of use for both students and prospective students. The new experience will be more conducive when searching for answers or contacting the Student Support department.

What do I need to do?
When the refresh goes live, we recommend checking that your color palette theme is mapped correctly and that your logo is the correct size. Otherwise, no additional actions are needed.

Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Green Belt (Exam Cost Included)

Six Sigma is a data-driven approach to improving organizational processes. Quality improvement projects are often led by Six Sigma Green Belts and implemented by Six Sigma Yellow Belts. They will also prepare for the certification exams with industry-specific examples, interactive activities, case-studies, and test questions.

Upon course completion, students will be prepared to sit for ASQ’s Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Green Belt certification exams. Exam cost is included in the overall course cost, so students will also receive prepaid vouchers for both exams when they successfully complete the course material.

Why were these courses bundled?

We bundled these courses to streamline training for early to mid-career professionals seeking certification. Prior to this release, the catalog only had a Six Sigma Green and Black Belt bundle geared toward middle to mid-senior level professionals, as well as the individual Six Sigma courses.

Who should take this course?

Team members working on process improvement projects would benefit from this course. Earning both certifications creates a clear path to eventually becoming a project leader.

Should I add this course to the Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL)?

If you have the Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Certified Six Sigma Green Belt courses on the ETPL individually, we recommend adding this option on there to provide another option.

When should I add these titles to the ETPL?

If you plan to add these titles, you should apply for approval immediately. If you need more information on the ETPL submission process, please contact your account manager.

Product Launch: Certified Paralegal

ed2go prides itself on offering innovative, relevant courses. We’re pleased to announce that two new paralegal studies courses are now available in the catalog:

Advanced Career Training

Certified Paralegal (Voucher Included)

Demand for qualified paralegals is booming. In fact, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that the field will add 41,800 jobs between 2016-2026. The best way to break into or advance in this growing profession is to earn a Certified Paralegal (CP) credential from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA). With law firms looking for paralegals to fill new positions, certification from the oldest certifying body in the paralegal field proves that a candidate is capable and will be a valuable part of the team.

Our new Certified Paralegal (Voucher Included) course will prepare students for the NALA CP exam and a career in the paralegal field. Students will first learn about the U.S. legal system, how to conduct legal research and legal interviews, how to perform legal analyses, and more. And through our partnership with NALA, Certified Paralegal students have full access to their legal library and CP self-study review guides to further supplement their training. Students will also receive soft skills training to increase workplace effectiveness. The course concludes with a capstone project and a portfolio review. Students will create a complete litigation file that includes a legal analysis brief, an investigative report, client interview checklist, intake memo, complaint, legal research, and interoffice memorandum of law. Finally, they will create a resume and portfolio that showcases their specialized skill set.

Upon course completion and fulfillment of eligibility requirements, students will receive a prepaid voucher for the NALA CP exam. The ‘voucher included’ option is ideal for students who meet the education or work requirements and are ready to take the exam.

COURSE CODE: GES2034 | SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE: $2,495

Certified Paralegal

The Certified Paralegal course features the same curriculum as our Certified Paralegal (Voucher Included) title, without the voucher. The ‘non-voucher’ option is ideal for students who are not yet eligible to take the NALA CP exam, but still want to train for paralegal career while they strive to meet work or education requirements.

COURSE CODE: GES2033 | SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE: $2,395

How are the new paralegal titles different than the current titles?

Our new paralegal courses are more robust than the current catalog offerings, Paralegal (GES209) and Paralegal (Voucher Included) (GES270). The new titles feature much of the same core curriculum, but include a greater focus on workforce preparedness. In addition to training for the exam, students will prepare for all stages of the career journey – from job search to workplace effectiveness. New features include:

  • Soft skills content and seven new soft skill videos
  • 20 quizzes that reinforce individual competencies
  • Capstone project that involves creating a complete litigation file
  • Resume preparation for job seekers
Should I add these courses to the Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL)?

Yes. Paralegal (GES209) and Paralegal (Voucher Included) (GES270) will be retired on September 12, 2019. Across our partner network, these courses are amongst the most popular offerings for workforce-funded students. Not replacing these courses on the ETPL with Certified Paralegal (Voucher Included) (GES2034) and Certified Paralegal (GES2033) would likely result in lost enrollments and revenue.

When should I add these titles to the ETPL?

If you plan to add these titles, you should apply for approval immediately. If you need more information on the ETPL submission process, please contact your account manager.

What do you need to do:

If you’ve elected to auto-add new titles to your catalog, then no further action is required. Otherwise, you will need to add them manually in the online administration center. If you’re not sure if you have the auto-add feature set up, contact your Account Manager.

Product Launch: HVACR Simulations

ed2go prides itself on offering innovative, relevant courses. We’re pleased to announce that a new, one-of-a-kind Advanced Career Training course is now available in the catalog. Read below for more information on the course, its purpose, and how it can fit into your continuing education catalog.

Advanced Career Training

HVACR Simulations for Field Technicians

HVACR systems are becoming increasingly complex, so learning and mastering the latest technology is critical. The HVACR Simulations for Field Technicians offers a rich, hands-on learning experience that mimics field performance in completely online environment. Students will practice servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting common HVAC/R scenarios in true-to-life service call simulations.

The course consists of approximately 200 scenarios that help students master seven pieces of HVAC/R equipment – Gas Furnace, Oil Furnace, Gas Boiler, Split Residential A/C, Commercial A/C, Heat Pumps, and Commercial Walk-in Freezers. After each unit, the student’s skills and knowledge are then put to the test in 12 ungraded assessment simulations. For experienced HVACR technicians looking to sharpen their diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, this training program is ideal.

COURSE CODE: GES787 | SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE: $495

Should I add this course to the Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL)?

We do not recommend adding this course to the ETPL. The course does not prepare for a specific certification, but it is designed as a robust supplementary training for experienced HVACR technicians in a true-to-life online environment.

Is the course graded?

No. While the course does have “assessment simulations” after each unit, their purpose is to test the student’s HVACR skills.

Will students get a certificate of completion?

Yes. However, to receive a certificate students must elect that they have finished the simulations to the best of their ability.

How does this course benefit my catalog?

The value of this course is placed on learning outcomes through hands-on training, and not a specific grade. By offering this course, you are able to reach learners at a later stage in their HVACR career journey.

What do I need to do?

If you’ve elected to auto-add new titles to your catalog, then no further action is required. Otherwise, you will need to add this title manually in the online administration center. If you’re not sure if you have the auto-add feature set up, contact your Account Manager.
